But spotting at least 20 vehicles flying past the window of my terminal all at once before another ten careered around the corner was a terrifying signal that something has gone horrifically wrong. After a bumpy landing at Ronald Reagan Washington Airport (DCA) from Kansas City where I was on an assignment – with our American Airlines captain warning of high winds – our walk through the terminal to wait for a connecting flight began normally.
