They were tasked with creating the best dish made from French-labeled bodega food using only what Punkie had in her apartment to cook with. Returnee Chef Cesar won the Quickfire with his cheddar and goat cheese popcorn grits with apples, bacon and celery garnish, earning himself $10,000. The Elimination Challenge tasked the chefs with creating dishes out of ingredients from the Montreal rooftop greenhouse project. Each chef was given a season to work within. Cesar got to choose his season because he won the Quickfire and then that season became off limits to any other chefs. Cesar chose summer, and the other chefs were as follows: Shuai and Mossimo to winter, Bailey and Lana to fall, and Vinny and Tristen to spring. The winner of the challenge was Shuai with a winter vegetarian dish he called "Last Bowl of Hot Pot" that consisted of squash, sweet potato dumplings, fried enoki mushrooms and mushroom dashi. The other top chefs this week were Mossimo and Bailey. The eliminated chef was Vinny with his spring dish of lamb dumplings with morel mushroom consommé, enoki mushrooms and English peas. Where he ran into trouble was that he ran out of time to garnish all of his dumplings with his radish flowers, plus the judges found his consommé to be "aggressive" and felt that it overpowered the dish.
