Sharon Osbourne revealed that she disinvited one well-known band from performing at husband Ozzy Osbourne's final concert event with Black Sabbath on July 5

Speaking ahead of Ozzy's final show with the heavy metal group, she shared that the one band "wanted to make a profit"

"I'll let everybody know who it was. I think people will be shocked," Sharon, who manages Ozzy's solo career, said

Sharon Osbourne revealed that she disinvited one well-known band from Ozzy Osbourne's final concert event with Black Sabbath.

Speaking with Billboard ahead of her husband's final show with the heavy metal group, which took place at England's Villa Park on July 5, Sharon said that one band was removed from performing at the "Back to the Beginning" concert event because its members "wanted to make a profit."

"It's not the time to make a profit," Sharon, the 72-year-old TV personality who also manages Ozzy's solo career, told the outlet. "After the show I'll let everybody know who it was. I think people will be shocked."

Sharon, who has also managed Black Sabbath aside from her husband's career since 1979, previously told Metal Hammer in June that the unnamed group's removal from the lineup came after a dispute with the its manager, leading her to feel "the worst way I've felt in years."

"I had a huge, huge to-do with a manager over this celebration for Ozzy and Sabbath," she explained. "And I don't care what this person says about me, thinks about it, because he doesn't know me. And he's now going around making up b------- lies because I threw his band off the bill."

Ozzy Osbourne performs with Black Sabbath on July 5, 2025

Although some heavy metal fans speculated that the band removed from the bill was Iron Maiden, Sharon dismissed those rumors.

"Oh god, no. Ozzy only has respect for the guys in Maiden," she said.

The "Back to the Beginning" concert event took place in the rock band's hometown of Birmingham, England, and also featured a who's-who of rock icons such as Metallica, Guns N' Roses, Slayer and more.

Black Sabbath performed "War Pigs," "N.I.B.," "Iron Man" and "Paranoid" — while Osbourne, 76, also performed solo songs such as "I Don't Know," "Mr. Crowley," "Suicide Solution," "Mama, I'm Coming Home" and "Crazy Train."

"Back to the Beginning" marked the full group's first performance since their The End Tour, which also concluded in Birmingham in 2017.

At the July 5 show, since Osbourne's ability to stand and walk has been greatly affected by Parkinson's disease — which he was diagnosed with in 2019 — the rocker sat on a bat-themed throne with a skull design on each arm rest for the performance.

Earlier this year, Osbourne confirmed to Billboard that he wouldn't perform a full set with Black Sabbath, saying, "I am doing what I can, where I feel comfortable."

Osbourne did not perform at his Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction in 2024 and had to cancel his last scheduled concert at the Power Trip festival in 2023.

Recently, the rocker opened up about about "giving 120%" at his final concert on his SiriusXM show Ozzy Speaks, which airs monthly on SiriusXM's Ozzy's Boneyard. "If my God wants me to do the show, I'll do it," he said at the time.

Lorde's 'Virgin' Album Debuts at No. 2 on Billboard Chart

Chris WillmanJuly 7, 2025 at 4:58 AM

Lorde's fourth album, "Virgin," debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 album chart, pulling in 71,000 album-equivalent units, a figure that got a big boost from the singer's strong vinyl sales.

According to Billboard, "Virgin" sold 31,000 copies on vinyl during its first week, her best weekly tally ever in the LP format. Eight different vinyl variants were available of Lorde's album, including signed editions. Combining that LP total with additional sales in digital and CD formats, "Virgin" sold 41,000 copies altogether, accounting for more than half of her overall unit total.

Where to Buy Lorde's 'Virgin' on Vinyl - Including That Provocative Photo Insert

The album debuted at No. 1 on the album sales chart, though it had to settle for No. 6 on the streaming chart. The album's songs picked up 37.07 million on-demand streams, which translated to 29,000 SEA (streaming equivalent albums) units.

These numbers marked an uptick from the first-week performance of Lorde's previous album, "Solar Power," which debuted with 56,000 units and entered the Billboard 200 at No. 5 in 2021. That album debuted with a considerably lower number of on-demand streams, 28.38 million, than "Virgin" did. The four-year-old release also sold fewer copies, officially, with 34,000 in all formats (although there was controversy at the time because Billboard did not recognize sales for a "music box" release that consisted of a bar code inside a physical box at retail).

Unlike "Solar Power," Lorde did release a CD edition of "Virgin," although Billboard did not immediately break out sales for that format. The compact disc prompted chatter among fans for being completely transparent to the naked eye, thematically in keeping with a cover design that featured an X-ray of the singer's pelvic region — which prompted plaudits for its design but mixed reactions when the CD turned out to be playable on some systems but not others.

Even with an increase in units this time around, Lorde was inevitably destined to come in second to the the inevitable chart leader, Morgan Wallen's indomitable "I'm the Problem," which earned 173,000 more units in its seventh straight week at No. 1.

There were two other brand new entries in the top 10: Katseye's "Beautiful Chaos" debuted at No. 4, with 44,000 equivalent album units. And Russ' "Wild" bowed at No. 10 with 32,000. Both these releases were similar to Lorde's in having sales accounting for an unusually high percentage of their totals, versus streaming.

Physical sales were also a factor in the album making the biggest leap of the week. Playboi Carti's formerly chart-topping "Music" made a big jump from No. 28 to No. 8, due to a vinyl edition coming out.

The soundtrack to the Netflix film "KPop Demon Hunters" was another substantial grower, moving up from No. 8 to No. 3 in its second week on the chart, with 62,000 units. Unlike all of the aforementioned albums, this one's strength was heavily weighted toward streaming, with its songs attracting 77.42 million on-demand streams for the week.

Holdover albums included Karol G's "Tropicoqueta," down two spots to No. 5 in week 2; SZA's "SOS," down three spots to No. 7; and Sabrina Carpenter's "Short 'n Sweet," also down three spots at No. 9, with a followup album teed up to come out in less than two months.

Chantal strengthened just off the Southeast coast before making landfall around Litchfield Beach, South Carolina, before dawn Sunday morning.

Although the system continues to weaken as it pushes inland, it will continue to bring rain, gusty winds and rip currents.

Latest Status And Forecast

The center of the storm is disorganized and continuing to push inland across North Carolina with bands of rain and gusty winds. It's expected to track northward through Virginia into Monday.

Satellite Image of ChantalImpacts

Rainfall will be the most widespread impact from this system across North Carolina and Virginia. Localized flooding can't be ruled out, but we don't expect anything widespread.

Rainfall totals might reach 2 to 4 inches in the eastern Carolinas, with isolated totals of 6 inches possible. The heaviest rainfall is expected to the north and east of Chantal's center.

Current Radar

A high threat of rip currents is expected along parts of the Southeast coast, especially in the Carolinas and mid-Atlantic. Take note of flags warning about this danger at beaches and stay out of the water if the flags are red.
