The real-life Cheryl Bradshaw felt 'ill' after meeting serial killer Rodney Alcala on The Dating Game in September 1978 and declined to meet with him again, in a move that probably saved her life. Anna Kendrick portrays Bradshaw in the new Netflix movie, Woman of the Hour, which sees her take on the role of The Dating Game contestant, but while it is based on a true story, some elements were fictionalized as the real woman has remained largely out of the limelight.
